Straightening cord or leather

Tie the cord ends to something with a bit of heft and hang over a door for a few hours or days. It will straighten out the cord with no work. I tied the cord to a small shopping bag with a bag of dried beans. Most anything will work don't go overboard on the weight you just want some tension in place.
