Lampwork by
Michelle Hershman
Lampworking is an
ancient art of manipulating glass in a flame. My
lampworking results in enchanting glass beads ready
for jewelry making or simply to collect and admire.
All lampwork beads are
lovingly designed in the torch flame by Michelle Hershman in coastal Alabama then carefully
annealed in a digitally controlled kiln to ensure long
life of the lampworked bead. The lampwork beads come to
you ready to use in your designs.
Unless otherwise specified, the lampwork beads are made on 3/32" mandrels and have a hole of about 2.4mm. Larger holes(about 1/8" or 3.2mm) available upon request for many of the designs.
I use soft glass for the majority of my beads. Just some of the brand names I use are Effetre, Bullseye, Lauscha, Satake. I occasionally work in Borosilicate (hard glass), and always label it as boro. Boro loves light and the colors often will view differently in different lighting.
The lampwork beads listed in the Ready to Ship area are ready to ship. Those listed in other areas are made after an order is received.
